(nominal charge for non-members – proceeds go to Welfare Fund)
Mandy Bristow, Debbie Hollingsworth (Women’s officer) Maria Fawunmi (Young members Officer) and Claire Stanhope (Welfare Officer) are putting on a UNISON Community BBQ on the 8th August at the South Oxford Community Centre in Hinksey Park, next to the outdoor pool, boating lake, splash park etc.
We are hiring the hall and planning to lure in both members and passers by with the waft of burgers and the prospect of spending a day together in the sun (hopefully!) We would love it if you could all come along and support us. We are going to have some stalls out with Self Organised Group information available and it would be great if our core officers were there to meet members and of course enjoy some wonderful grub! The main thrust of the event is that we want people to have a chance to network and enjoy a sense of being part of a collective organisation which has a vibrant and vital role in the community. Mandy and I will be doing the BBQ but don’t let that put you off!
We want people to feel that they can bring their kids and families along, there is plenty to do at the park near the venue including a free splash park, a large play area, a miniature lake (ideal for toy boats) an outdoor swimming pool (chargeable entrance) and tennis courts for the sporty amongst you. It should prove a fantastic day out and we want all generations of UNISON members represented.
